Not only did we have Sports day this week, the Year 3,4,5 and 6 Football teams represented the school at the Fairfields MK schools tournament.
We came third!
Here is the tournament report- by Thomas, Theo and Harry J.
When we arrived at Fairfields we gathered up in a hall and we picked our Euro country for the day. We got France. After the presentation, we all went to the changing rooms and put on our football boots.
We headed out to the pitch for our first match VS Netherlands. The end result was 3-0 and Theo, Thomas and Elliot scored the goals. Theo was Captain.
A few minutes later, we played Germany and drew 1-1 because Theo chopped it behind the keeper and blasted the ball into the back of the net. Luckily, we played Portugal next, but they didn't turn up, so we got a free win!
Our 4th game was against England and we won 2-0 thanks to Theo's brilliant finishes. The final game was against Spain and it ended in defeat, even though Thomas scored from a good corner.
Because we'd played so well we reached the Semi- final against Germany again. It finished 0-0 and went straight to penalties. Theo, Elliott and Thomas bravely stepped up, but one hit the post.
Sadly, we lost in the Semi-final, but Mr Godfrey and Mrs Dunnett were proud of us for trying out hardest.
